Around
1750, our story begins in a village where the Gabrielino Indians
once lived. It continues today as the town of Playa del Rey.
We are at the center of some of the best coastal communities
in the Los Angeles area: El Segundo, Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo,
and Palos Verdes to the south, Marina del Rey, Venice, Santa
Monica, and Malibu to the north.
We are happily isolated between the Ballona Wetlands to the
northeast, LAX to the south and our sister town to the north,
Marina del Rey. You can take a stroll on the beach while enjoying
the view of boats and the ocean breeze. We have a path for skaters,
joggers and bicyclists that can take you towards P.V. or Malibu
On the beach, you can play volleyball, maybe catch an occasional
tournament, sun-bathe, swim, play in the sand and if your timing
is right, even catch some awesome surf!
In Playa del Rey, you have little need for your car unless it’s
just to get here. You can walk to the beach, restaurants, cafes,
taverns, or local stores.
So, when your neck of the woods heats up, come on down to where
it’s cool, calm, clean and clear. I'll be sitting nearby on
my balcony overlooking the wetlands, watching the sailboats
drift by and wondering,... why I would ever want to be anywhere
else. It’s just a taste of heaven. For this "Beach",
I Thank "The King.”
